Family Photos in the Poppy Fields with the Facer Family
Photographing the Facer family over the years has been such a joy. Every session brings something new, and this one—set in the glowing poppy fields of Mantua, Utah—felt especially sentimental. As we wandered through the wildflowers and into the trees at Box Elder Campground, it hit me hard: their babies aren’t babies anymore.
These were more than just family photos in the poppy fields. They were a reminder of how quickly time moves. Years ago, I was capturing toddler snuggles and baby giggles with this crew. Now, their kids are growing up right before my lens—full of personality, confidence, and so much charm.

Why Family Photos in the Poppy Fields Are So Special
The poppies were in full bloom during our session. With golden light filtering through the petals, it felt like something out of a storybook. This location in Box Elder County is a photographer’s dream and one of my favorite spots for spring and summer sessions.
Moving between the poppy field and the quiet beauty of Box Elder Campground, we created a mix of portraits that felt natural and joyful. The trees offered shade and variety, while the flowers gave everything that extra pop of color. It’s easy to get authentic smiles when families feel comfortable—and the Facers always show up with open hearts and great energy.

Documenting Growth and Connection
One of my favorite parts of being a family photographer is getting to watch families grow. You start to notice the little things: a new missing tooth, a taller stance, or a teenager’s quiet confidence that wasn’t there before. It’s those subtle changes that make each session so meaningful.
The Facers are the kind of family that reminds me why I do this work. Their love is steady, their laughter is loud, and their photos always feel full of life.
