San Diego Photographer 

Being a San Diego photographer in the fall is a whole different experience than in other parts of the country. Instead of a leaf race, we find ourselves in a holiday race haha. Everyone is trying to get those pictures taken and ordered before the mail deadlines of the holiday season. Although we have a moderate climate, you can find a lonesome tree filled with colorful leaves, but for the most part our backdrops are either the beach or greenery. 

The Pourarian Family 

Amalis and her family have shot on the beach numerous times, so this time they wanted green and nature! They have shot in the coolest places such as in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco! When discussing locations I thought we might end up somewhere like Balboa Park, but she found the most beautiful location right in her backyard! The Pourarian family lives in a gorgeous horse community in Fairbanks Ranch, San Diego. Their neighborhood is lined with horse trails and beautiful parks. I used to drive past this neighborhood on my way home from work as a nanny everyday and so I was really excited to get to shoot here. Amalis dropped me a pin and even this seasoned San Diego photographer had no idea what to expect. 

The Location

We started on a trail at the bottom of a waterfall and my jaw dropped when I saw it.  Amalis said “this isn’t even the best part!” I couldn’t believe that sentence but after we took a few shots we walked up the trail to the top of the waterfall and we weren’t in San Diego anymore. We followed the trail to a boulder garden where their girls climbed and played. Next, we found some shrubbery with pretty little blue flowers on it where we shot the girls pictures. The trail ended at a lake where we were able to catch some silhouette shots and fun reflections of the family. 

Not your typical fall

I loved getting to know the Pourarian family and hanging out with their beautiful girls Lyla and Avah. Although it’s not your typical fall scene, it is still a beautiful experience to be a San Diego photographer.
