Location is Key
Where you take your engagement photos can really set the tone for the entire shoot. Do you want a more urban setting with graffiti-covered walls or a romantic outdoor setting with flowers in bloom? Think about where would be best for the type of pictures you want, and scout out locations beforehand so that you can be sure it fits your vision.

My favorite place to shoot! Similarly to the above locations, you get a variety between the dunes, the rocks, and the water!

Next, make sure to bring any outfits or accessories that will add extra personality to your engagement pictures. Accessories like hats, jewelry, and blankets are equally great additions! Bring along multiple outfits as well, and make sure they fit the vibe of the location. For example, bring a casual and a formal outfit. If possible, try on each outfit beforehand so there are no surprises on picture day!
