Summer was filled with simple days and grand adventures. We spent many days at local parks, pools, splash pads, museums and hit up all the local events. But we also spent many days vacationing — taking trips to Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Bear Lake. Luke and I had work trips taking us all over the US which made summer extra busy and chaotic this year. Through all the big trips and simple days, the best part was just watching it all through our kids excited, curious eyes. Brody and Piper have become the best of friends this summer. They care about each other deeply and constantly defend and look out for each other. Even when it’s two against mom, its the most adorable thing seeing them take each other’s side. When one is hurt, the other is by their side yelling for help. I love listening to them play house with their stuffed animals, rubber duckies and even their food. They have the best imaginations. I love watching them dance and sing together. I even love hearing them fight sometimes….because it’s adorable and hilarious. When the smartest four year old and craziest two year old get into a fight, it’s hilarious. “See this face, this is my mad face” as Piper is chasing Brody at full speed with claws engaged. These two keep me laughing always.
