A year ago, Sydney was sent to Primary Children’s Hospital with a lump in her chest. A year ago she was diagnosed with cancer. A year ago Sydney had to tell her brothers and brand new premie little sister that she had cancer. A year ago she started her fight.
This last year I watched my little eleven-year old cousin grow up faster than any child should have to. She fought through hair loss. She fought through the deaths of some of her greatest friends. She fought through chemo and lousy days. She fought through school. She fought through yucky meds and needle pokes. She fought through bullies and friend-loss. She fought through it all.
And four weeks ago, my sweet cousin Sydney rang the cancer-free bell at Primary Children’s. It was a beautiful day and I was honored to be apart of it.
While I was there I took photos and video. I love the pictures, but the video means so much more for me this time. P.S. This is my very first attempt at videography.
