The Hislop Family looked so cute for their The Blush Door Studio Family Photos.
Taking pictures outdoors isn’t ideal for every family. Maybe you have young kids who are easily distracted outdoors, the weather doesn’t permit for your specific needs, or your children have a hard time keeping their eyes open when it is bright.
The Hislop family wanted to change things up and hadn’t had family photos done for a while! I was so happy they could get an updated photo as some of their kids are getting much older! We used a few different scenes in the studio.
When we use the studio for family photos, I like to get creative with the poses to make things visually interesting. We had some of the girls sit on some of our cute furniture and snuggle in together and it made one of my favorite photos!
They were such a fun group of siblings, so we had fun getting a few shots of them together. I really liked the picture of them sitting on the bed together for a cozy lifestyle look. I love the studio because you can get a fresh and clean plain background as well as some cozy lifestyle and homie photos.
We also took individual photos of every family member. We changed up the backgrounds and poses by using the white wall, mauve wall, brick wall and black wall. I was sure to change out my lens a few times to get some different angles and focal lengths. The 85mm lens is closer up and the 35mm lens is a wider angle photo. It is fun to have a mix of both styles for your family photos!
I loved that the outfits coordinated so well. They were all different colors, textures and styles but it all came together perfectly just like we like! We love taking family photos in the studio when outdoors isn’t an option for your family!
