This is the sound of two awesome portraits to hang on your wall and send out on Christmas cards, but these aren’t the shots that capture personalities. My new favorite photos are the shots after the shot. Those shots that catch those real smiles, the interactions between two people and the candid laughter. The best shots are the outtakes.
My camera was hanging on my neck as I was walking over to these beautiful models. They started laughing so hard at each other so I picked up my camera and started shooting. There was no time to focus. I absolutely love the raw emotion that shines through the out-of-focus mess.
Kylee Ann Maughan is a family and international brand photographer based in small-town Northern Utah.
