Every once in a while I meet a couple that from the beginning I basically now that I want to be their best friend in real life AND their photographer, so we can hang out and take amazing pictures at all times. Not only are they so beautiful, but they are the kindest souls. I did a Skype consult with Jillian and Peter months ago and when she mentioned they lived in Provo area, I totally geeked out about this hot dog place called JDawgs I just found out about and how they have an amazing BBQ sauce. When I showed up to their engagement shoot, Jillian presented me with my very own new bottle of JDawgs sauce— the way to my heart!! Jillian has always been so complimentary of my work, which means so much to me, and she has been so excited to be a Kylee Ann Bride, she has already referred friends to me. After all of this I knew their pictures needed to be that much more amazing! ;)

Jillian and Peter met in their YSA ward at BYU a few years ago. They dated for a few years and from what I’ve heard, they are everyone’s favorite couple. Peter’s parents are serving as mission presidents of the Australia Perth mission, which is the same mission Kylee’s sister, Brooklyn is serving in!! How neat is that? He even met Sister Falter when he visited last November. Peter had that trip planned to go to Australia but wanted to propose before. Jillian is a planner and had given Peter some proposing rules. She needed to be clean and pretty and it needed to be a surprise. Since Peter was on a time crunch, he was hopeful he could swing surprising her before his trip. They were heading down to California for a weekend trip, but convinced Jillian the ring wouldn’t be ready anytime soon (the classic white lie).  Peter won the diamond and setting on a bidding war on eBay for a killer deal but it still needed to be made. She bought it and after playing in California for a few days, it was time to propose. Jillian was getting suspicious that Peter wanted her to shower specifically one afternoon, and Peter realized her paranoia. He looked her straight in the eyes and said “I get the feeling you think I’m going to propose, I’m not proposing today.” Jillian relaxed a little until he took her to an amazing overlook with the sunset overlooking the water. She knew it was coming, and was waiting. The Peter said, “Well, let’s leave!” NOT what she was anticipating. Then we was behind her on one knee with the most amazing ring and the easiest question!!

We met up for their engagement session at the base of Timpanogos Canyon to head to Tibble Fork Reservoir!! This place is the Utah Photographer’s holy grail and I’ve never shot their before!! The air was warm, the sun was bright and the water was blue! Add to that a hot couple and I see why its the go to place for amazing pictures!! Jillian and Peter were instantly at ease in front of my camera. I’m obsessed with Jillian’s beauty, doesn’t see look like Elena from The Vampire Diaries!? I couldn’t get enough of her amazing hair blowing in the wind, and neither could Peter. I throughly enjoyed getting to know these guys in person and laugh with them every time something hit their funny bone, which was the whole time! The whole time Peter was wishing he had a fishing pole to join the plethora of fishermen along the shore. Jillian was running up and down the hilly terrain in her cute heels and dresses, and I totally love outdoorsy couples. I can’t wait to photograph their bridals at the Manti temple next month!!
