There is so much variety at Tony Grove.
We can photograph surrounded by trees, find open mountain views, and use the natural landscape to create completely different looks without driving all over Logan Canyon.

And honestly, when the backdrop looks like this, it’s pretty easy to make beautiful photographs.

For mountain family photos, I recommend choosing colors that complement the landscape rather than compete with it.
Soft neutrals, creams, warm browns, muted greens, blues, and other earthy tones work beautifully.
You don’t have to match.
Instead, choose a palette that feels cohesive and let everyone’s individual personality show through.
Layers and textures can also photograph beautifully, especially if you’re planning a session during one of Tony Grove’s cooler evenings.
Getting More Than One Family Picture
One of the things I love about outdoor family sessions is the opportunity to create a full gallery instead of just one group portrait.
We’ll photograph everyone together, then break things down into smaller combinations.
