I developed a love for reading when I was young. I think it started with Harry Potter. When I was supposed to be asleep, I was usually reading with the light under the crack from the hall. Reading was an escape. It was a time when you could forget about all your worries and totally immerse yourself in another world. Lauren and I would spend every ounce of free-time curled up on opposite ends of the couch reading.
I remembered thinking, “when I get married, I hope that my husband loves books so I always have a reading buddy on the other end of the couch.”
Since Brody was born, the only books I’ve been reading are baby books and photography text books, but Luke is constantly in the middle of a series. At the end of every night, he is reading until he drifts off to sleep. Brody also shares our love for books. He’s been listening to us read him books since he was less than a month old. Now he loves books with textures, sounds and animals.
