Do you ever wonder why wedding details matter?
I have heard some people say that they don’t need details in their wedding. I completely understand simplicity, but there is so much more to details than just something pretty. Even simple details can be powerful.
Details are what make up our memories. Your wedding day is one that you will remember your entire life. You will never forget the color of your bouquet, or the way your dress fit. Those little details become a part of you.
Details help you remember
My job as a photographer is to capture those details so that when you look back on the photos from that day you will remember how it felt to be there. You can share those memories with your children and they will be able to feel it too.
When you’re planning your wedding include those little things that feel like you. You individually, and you as a couple. It is your special day.
Choose items, food, and people who matter to you.
Do you have an antique veil that was your grandmothers? A favorite color? Favorite flower? Dogs who are like your family? Include them. What are your favorite treats? Serve that to your guests. Do you love Disney movies? Find a way to incorporate quotes from them in a beautiful way. I once had a bride who had recently lost her childhood horse. She had a keychain made out of his tail hair and wrapped it around her bouquet so she could keep
him close. It was a beautiful way for him to be included and I made sure to capture a lot of photos of that little reminder for her.
Here’s a quick recap.
- simple details can be powerful
- details are what makes up memories.
- you can feel like you are back on your wedding day again just through reliving details
- your guests and later your children will know all about who you are by just looking at what you chose to include on your wedding day.
