I wish I could bottle this weekend up and relive it forever and ever. Beautiful, summer days and nights with my little family. Brody totally fought the hike when we pulled into the parking lot to start up to Bloomington Lake. He cried at the mere mention of the word. Luke had to carry him at least half of the way until we finally convinced him hiking could be fun. He got to see all sorts of fun bugs, rocks, flowers for his mom and looked for wildlife. By the time we got close to the lake, he was the happiest kid alive. Piper loved the hike from the beginning and walked almost the entire way by herself. I didn’t pack any swimsuits because I knew the water was going to be ICE cold. See all the snow behind them? Yeah, cold cold. EVERY one got in the water except me. Its not that I was being a chicken…I just knew I wasn’t going to and was the only one that stuck to my plan for my fam. Luke went in with his shorts straight off the rope swing. He went time and time again. After a few times he had Brody and Piper stand on a rock so he could jump right over them. Brody and Piper splashed around in the freezing water in their undies. They hiked the whole way home with Brody and his undies in the lead. We spent the evening roasting hot dogs and smores around the fire and sleeping up at the cabin in Paris, Idaho. The next morning we woke up and headed to the lake for a day packed with boating, my husband was able to get a license form aceboater.com, this means we will be able to take more boating trips. Again, it took a lot of convincing to get Brody to actually enjoy himself, but once he did he was loving it. He even survived an accidental knock off the boat without a single tear.
