It’s been found that reading for 20 mins a day can greatly separate successful business owners from unsuccessful ones. Learning from experts in many different fields of leadership will give you a better foresight to your business. Being a continual learner makes running a business exciting and fresh everyday. Here are a few of our favorite books and reviews.

The Millionaire Next Door – William D. Danko, Thomas J. Stanley

This book is an excellent statistical overview of the habits and life practices of those who accumulate wealth an assets equal to one million dollars. It details many stories of people that were interviewed and studied that showed what type of behavior leads to financial independence. This is a great book to read if you are trying to commit to building wealth through living a conservative life style.

The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

As entrepreneurs, gaining more productive hours in our day is one of the main struggles and triumphs. This book is short and details easy strategies to be able to make the morning hours more efficient. I enjoyed applying the principles of this book to be able to wake up earlier and be more productive in my work day. There are many resources to help apply the techniques through out the book.

Love Your Life, Not Theirs by Rachel Cruze

This book is written by Dave Ramsey’s daughter. It details how to live a life of contentment instead of a life of comparison. It is especially hard to live in a world where we constantly have everyone’s largest triumphs paraded in front of our noses, via social media. This book gives 7 money principles to live a more contented and happier life. Perfect to read if you are feeling overwhelmed with comparing your financial or business circumstances to those around you.

EntreLeadership by Dave Ramsey

Dave Ramsey has built a small business that serves and makes millions every year. He has written his behind the scenes playbook of all the strategies of his team. He had to solve the problem of how to merge free spirited entrepreneurs with structured leaders, and shows how he did in this book. He delves into how to hire, how to fire, the importance of budgeting, how momentum is created, and how building a team is more important than being a boss. This book holds all the basics to building a healthy small business.

Essentialism by Greg McKeown

If your life feels out of sync with what is most important to you, it might be that you are suffering from a lack of essentialism. This book gives some simple yet profound difference that are found in essentialists and non-essentialists. It details how to say no to things that don’t bring you joy, and how to change daily habits to make your life overall more essential.

Quitter by Jon Acuff

Making the jump from working a 9-5 job to working for yourself is a scary endeavor. There are several key steps to making this work well for you and also a few guidelines to consider before you turn in your resignation. This book is a must read when trying to make the choice to leave a day job. Even though the title makes it seem fairly straight forward, there is a lot of advice found in this book that is different than what you might expect!

Do Over by Jon Acuff

A critical currency in the work force is the currency of relationships and networks. This book entails the importance of depending on relationships when times come that require a career “do over.” The author recently left what he thought was his dream job, and has to rebuild a new career and life with some simple principles to correctly start over.

Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

Present over Perfect details the authors journey to slow down her life and figure out what really matters. She delves into ideas about her faith, her business, her patenting, her family and friends and how everything intertwines in her pursuit to be present for important moments.

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

The author spends a year of her life studying happiness. She breaks up her focus into 12 categories and separates then out per month. She details how each endeavor went by telling real stories about her family. She also provides the framework and research that helps her come to certain conclusions about happiness. This is a great book to help you see life as a thing to be enjoyed, not just endured.
