I am so grateful to know the beautiful Hunter Family. Abby, Kody and their adorable babies used to live in our neighborhood, and we miss them being close by!
Nearly a year ago, Abby lost her incredible, wonderful Dad. Far too soon. I’ve watched from afar as she’s navigated her grief and loved her sweet family through this trial. I cannot fathom loosing a parent at such a young age, and my heart aches for the Hunters often. Coach Clay, Abby’s daddy, was an incredible figure in our community, the soccer coach at our local high school, and the greatest mentor. My husband knows of Coach Clay from his soccer playing years, and often states how he hopes to be even half the coach Clay was to his players.
Family photos are so important, and not for the reasons we all tend to believe. It’s not the Christmas cards, it’s not the coordinating outfits, and it’s not for the gallery walls at home. Family pictures freeze your family in that time. Family pictures create a visual legacy. Family pictures may be the things your children and grandchildren cling to someday when you are gone. My friend Abby expressed to me that she holds on tightly to the photos she has of her dad, and wishes she had so many more.
Life is a journey filled with countless beautiful and fleeting moments. From the joy of a child’s laughter to the warmth of a shared embrace, family pictures capture these emotions and freeze them in time. This is one of the reasons I myself am so passionate about family photos! Looking back at these photographs allows us to relive those moments and share them with future generations, creating a tangible link between the past and the present.
It is my wish that we remember the true reason for capturing our family and scheduling a family photo session. Please, do not worry about those outfits, “loosing a few more pounds”, or even the scheduling conflicts. Please make it a priority. I feel beyond grateful that I get to capture your families – to freeze the moments.
