Some days feel tender, holy, and unforgettable. Photographing the Spillett Family’s sealing was one of those days. Their sweet family from my own ward recently adopted the most darling little boy, and this session captured the moment they sealed him to their family for eternity. Their Family Sealing Photography session felt full of joy, faith, and so much love. It wasn’t just a gallery of images. It was a story of belonging and forever.

What Is a Family Sealing?

If you’re new to the term, a sealing is an ordinance in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s a moment where families are united eternally inside the temple. For families who adopt, it marks the sacred moment when a child becomes part of the family not only legally but spiritually. It’s beautiful. It’s emotional. And it’s a privilege to witness.

The Spilletts’ little boy has brought so much light into their home. Watching them step out of the temple—hand in hand, sealed, beaming with joy—was something I’ll never forget. His smile said everything. So did theirs.

Celebrating With Loved Ones

This day felt even more special because so many friends, ward members, and family gathered to celebrate. Loved ones waited outside the temple doors with hugs, cheers, and emotional smiles. The air felt full of gratitude and excitement. Everyone knew this moment meant everything.

It reminded me that families grow in so many beautiful ways. Sometimes through birth. Sometimes through adoption. Always through love. Sealing days bring out the very best in people and show how strong and supportive a community can be.
