Trials come in all forms. Physical, emotional, spiritual, financial. Some our very public. But what I’m discovering is most our trials are silent. Marriage struggles, money troubles, anxiety, depression, pornography, infertility, infidelity, spiritual doubts and more. I’ve spent hours with friends and not known they had the deepest struggles going on in their lives, and my friends have spent hours with me and not know what’s stirring in my soul either.
Life isn’t perfect. I think we all know that. But it’s okay to celebrate and focus on the perfect moments. Celebrate success, celebrate clean faces and done hair, celebrate milestones and celebrate who you are on the days you feel like the best you.
I challenge you to scroll through your phone today with love. Instead of assuming or judging, encourage others. Assuming the best in people is a lost quality. Despite life’s challenges, there are perfect moments. Those small moments of peace and happiness may be the only thing holding someone together. And even if it’s only an hour out of twenty four hours that they feel happiness, it’s something…maybe everything.
Don’t feel bad about dressing your kids cute, a good marriage or a clean house. Also don’t feel bad if your kids are running around in their underwear, your house is trashed and you had the worst mom day.
I will not compare myself to my friends, to my sisters, to my competition or strangers on the internet. I am me, and that’s what makes me special. I do what I can, with what I have, where I’m at. I will be kind for “everyone I meet is fighting a hard battle.”
