Last week we headed up to Bear Lake for a week of snowy fun with cousins. Luke’s brother Cory and his wife, Rachel came up from Oregon and found us a big Bear Lake Cabin to rent for New Years. Luke’s dad and all of his siblings are big Beaver fans so it was the perfect Maughan fam vaca. Luke’s dad’s been on ski patrol forever so they all grew up on the mountain! We headed up to the cabin on Tuesday. The drive through Logan Canyon was great, but when we got to the neighborhood (just 1 minute away) we were stuck for over an hour and a half. We went back to the gas station to by chains, put them on, took them off, put them back on and tried so hard to make it up the hill. Brody and Piper were so patient stuck in the car for several hours and Luke and his brother were champs for putting the snow chains on in -2 degree weather. Brody had a blast playing with all of his cousins. He’s right in between Fischer (6 months older) and Dempsie (4 months younger). I pooped out early on Tuesday night with a migraine, but woke up on Wednesday feeling so much better. We started the day with breakfast and a few games then went sledding across the street. After getting over the initial sledding fear, everyone had so much fun. We spent the rest of the day veggin’, eatin’ and playing games. On Thursday we headed up to Beaver Mountain for some skiing/boardin’ fun. Brody loved playing in the snow as long has his face stayed dry, but hated the ski lift and riding down in the pack. I could hear him screaming the whole way up and the whole way down. Luke only got in one run and Piper and I just took pics, but everyone else had a full day on the slopes. It was the best hanging out at the cabin for a few days with the fam! I loved watching Brody play with his new best buddy.
