I cannot believe my little man is one! We had the best first year birthday party. It started at Little Bear Bottoms Corn Maze. This is where my mom surprised us and showed up. She flew into town just for his birthday party! We were so excited! I knew she couldn’t stay away. The weather totally held out for us and was even kinda warm. We did the small maze…sort of, then jumped around on the stacks of hay bails!
After the corn maze, we went up the hill to his pirate birthday party. Brody occasionally gets to watch tv and his favorite is Jake and the Neverland Pirates. He loves all the songs. His daddy bought him a Jake doll that sings the songs to take with him when he comes with me to Washington. For his big birthday present, he got a pirate ship with a bunch of little people pirates. We decided to center the whole them around this.
My amazing friend, Ashley Phelps, made the pirate smash cake. Lauren made the Pirate banners. We decorated with red, black and blue balloons, table clothes and plates and cups. In the photo booth, we only used pirate props. It was such a fun night and we are so thankful to everyone who came or helped put it together!
