COVID-19 can take graduation, but not the celebration

When Meghan reached out to me for graduation pictures, it was WAY before the shutdowns and quarantine. But now these pictures are what she has to celebrate. Meghan and Lance are as good as they come. They are so positive, kind and fun to be around. I love when both the husband and wife can talk Bachelor with me. Its my favorite haha! Meghan has been my model all year with Eighth Main, and it’s been so special to be the photographer for all of Meghan and Lance’s big life moments.

Because of COVID-19, graduation celebrations are postponed. That just sucks! A graduation is a unique celebration that people look forward to for years. Students work towards it as a symbol of achievement and celebration. This year COVID-19 has stimulated creativity, adaptation and celebration in exciting new ways. COVID-19 can take graduation, but not the celebration

I’ve loved seeing people reflect on their own graduation experiences. I’ve seen many friends post pictures of their own graduation. All to honor and celebrate (from a distance) this achievement for 2020 graduates.

I recently read an article about this. “These difficult circumstances seem to have given many members of the class of 2020 a unique sense of camaraderie”. This is true for many of us. We can all support our graduates. Though we can’t be physically present, we can share enthusiasm and best wishes.

As a photographer, it’s been my pleasure to honor these seniors in a unique way. I love to capture this once in a lifetime experience, even if it might look different from past years. My hope is that someday the class of 2020 will look back and remember. (Hopefully with a smile).

Congrats to Meghan, and ALL graduates of 2020!!!
