Caroline first saw Billy when she started high school. She had a major crush on him, but he wasn’t available. Luckily, it was worth it to Caroline to wait it out, and she realized that things change almost daily in high school. A little while later when the opportunity presented itself, Caroline mustered her confidence and asked Billy to the girls choice dance. They’ve been together ever since.
Caroline has been attending Utah State while Billy works in Draper. They’ve dated and been engaged long distance since the end of high school. The fact that they’ve battled all the hardships that long distance can bring is not only inspiring to me, but makes Caroline’s impending graduation from USU next month even more special. She told me they’ve dated 1000 days long distance, which is not the Utah norm. They are each other’s best friends and know every single thing about each other, good and bad. I find their story so intriguing and seeing them together made everything click. Their love is worth the wait, and they are passionate about their story. Nothing in the world matters more to them! They are planning to be married in early November at Cactus & Tropicals, one of my favorite wedding venues in Draper!
We’ve had their shoot planned for weeks, so that we could take advantage of spring in Cache Valley and snow topped mountains. Mother nature apparently had different plans. Over 6 inches of snow fell the day before the shoot, and continued snowing though out the night. I was confident that regardless of the weather, the images would turn out amazing. I crafted a backup plan to head to a local green house and I told them to dress warm. We started out shooting in the fresh, oxygen filled and humid green house. They were instantly at ease in front of the camera. Caroline’s dark chocolate eyes are downright stunning, and I couldn’t stop commenting on them. Billy is the nicest groom. He was so happy to spend a Tuesday night in Logan with his sweetheart, and his love for her was all over his face. We joked, laughed and snuggled in the warmth of the green house. Then we geared ourselves up to head to the frosted canyon! And it was so pretty! One of the prettiest snowy days of 2016. I consider us lucky to have captured such an in-love couple on such an amazing afternoon! All of Caroline’s family in Cali will be wowed by the epic snowy pictures!! Enjoy!
