Our Easter weekend has been filled with fun traditions, family time and Christ. Saturday was the time for the silly, but necessary Easter traditions…like the egg hunt and Easter bunny. We got up and headed to the Elk Ridge Park Easter Egg hunt. We got there minutes too late, but just in time to meet the Easter bunny and hang with our friends, the Ragans. Neither Brody or Piper were very interested in the bunny. Kinda creepy. We spent the afternoon working around the house and waiting for the Easter bunny to come. Brody laid out 4 carrots across the front lawn and our empty easter baskets that we re purpose since baskets are great for yarn storage and these ones with got them online. An hour later he found the carrots gone, and the lawn covered in eggs. I love the magic kids bring to holidays. We waited for his cousins to come then they were off hunting eggs in the yard. We ended the night at the park, running down the big hills. It was a perfect day.
Sunday was for Christ. Their Easter Basket was filled with books about Christ, a new Book of Mormon Quiet book for church, and the Meaning of Easter flipbook from the Red Headed Hostess. We headed to Church with their new loot and it totally kept Brody’s attention. It’s so important for me to let me kids know why we have Easter. The silly traditions are fun, but the most important thing is Christ.
Easter is the Christian holiday celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. After Christ died on the cross, His body was placed in a sepulchre, where it remained, separated from His spirit, until His Resurrection, when His spirit and His body were reunited. Latter-day Saints affirm and testify that Jesus Christ was resurrected and lives today with a glorified and perfected body of flesh and bone. lds.org

I finally got my big camera out to capture some family moments. It’s been awhile since I did a monthly update, Piper sesh or personal post on here. Winters are long and hard. We do a lot of the same things over and over again — Wiggle Worm, Bounce Houses, Playing at Home, Avoiding Snow, etc. We’ve been so sick, and had so many hard days. I am SO glad that spring is around the corner, so we can be outside, healthy and take lots more pictures.
