This is Haley. She was nominated for the Beauty Revived Campaign as one of Utah’s 50 Most Beautiful Women because she is beautiful inside and out through every single trial she faces. Haley was born in Utah, but raised in the Pacific Northwest. After high school she moved from her home in Salem, Oregon and came to Logan, Utah to attend Utah State University. She is planning on majoring in X-ray and radiology. After coming here she realized Logan, Utah is definitely the place she feels at home home. She loves the small college town vibe and is bursting with Aggie pride.
When Haley was 12, she was diagnosed with Lupus nephritis. “Lupus nephritis is inflammation of the kidney that is caused by systemic lupus erythematous (SLE). Also called lupus, SLE is an autoimmune disease. With lupus, the body’s immune system targets its own body tissues. Lupus nephritis happens when lupus involves the kidneys.” Her body fights itself and everyday is a new battle. Haley’s mother also has Lupus. They stay strong with and for each other. Despite her constant health scares and frequent hospital visits, Haley is courageous and positive. Her favorite quote: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Haley definitely defines true beauty as she faces her everyday struggles with strength and optimism.
