After my wedding in Portland on Friday, we loaded up and headed the rest of the way to Seaside Oregon. We met all my family (except Lauren and PJ) at the beach that afternoon. After we unpacked and got settled, we headed to the Ocean for Brody’s very first time. It was quite chilly on his toes, but he loved it. He also loved the chocolate chip cookie he crammed in on the way into the water. He had fun wave hopping, running from the water and his first little dip.
The second time we went to the Ocean was a lot more sandy. Brody built his first sand castle. He loved digging in the sand, filling the buckets and destroying his sand castles. He also loved burying Aunt Emmalee, chasing seagulls and sand fights with the other boys. He was a sandy, but happy mess at the end of the day.
We also spent a little time shopping and carousel-ing. On Saturday, we hit the outlet malls and were spoiled rotten. My mom went crazy in Carter’s and we left with a full year wardrobe Piper and a few cute new clothes for Brody too. All the kids got new clothes and shoes, too. On our way to dinner that night, we took a ride on the carousel with all the fam. Brody had SO much fun so on Monday he and I went back for one more ride before we headed home. Then, Brody got to choose one toy from the toy store and of course he chose a kitty cat.
Our Family Vacation Seaside Oregon was a success. Vacations definitely aren’t easy with a toddler, or always relaxing, but for the most part we all had a blast!
