Jordan River Temple Wedding | Mckenna + Ian’s Emotional Ring Ceremony at Traverse Ridge

Some wedding days are about more than two people saying “I do.” They’re about two families becoming one.

Mckenna and Ian’s wedding day was a beautiful example of that. Their day began with a temple wedding at the Jordan River Utah Temple before continuing to Traverse Ridge for a meaningful ring ceremony with their closest family and friends.

As a Jordan River Temple wedding photographer, I love documenting the moments that make a wedding day uniquely yours, and this one was especially emotional because Mckenna’s kids were such an important part of the celebration.

A Beautiful Wedding at the Jordan River Temple

The day began at the Jordan River Temple, creating a beautiful and meaningful start to Mckenna and Ian’s wedding day.

After their temple wedding, everyone continued to Traverse Ridge for the next part of their celebration—a ring ceremony that gave them an opportunity to publicly celebrate their marriage surrounded by the people they love.

And that’s where the day became especially personal.

Including the Kids in the Wedding Ceremony

Mckenna’s kids weren’t simply guests at the ring ceremony.

They were part of it.

Ian gave each of the kids a special gift, creating a sweet moment that showed them they weren’t standing on the sidelines of this new chapter. They were becoming part of it, too.

Then Mckenna and Ian exchanged vows not only to each other, but to the kids.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

When a Wedding Becomes a Family Celebration

One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is getting to witness the moments that aren’t necessarily part of a traditional wedding checklist.

The big moments matter, of course.

But sometimes the most meaningful photographs come from watching a family become a family.

Mckenna and Ian’s vows to the kids were one of those moments.

There was so much emotion in the room as they made promises to each other and to the children. It was a beautiful reminder that marriage isn’t only about the couple standing at the altar. Sometimes it’s about creating a new family and intentionally choosing each other through every part of that journey.

Wedding Photography That Tells the Whole Story

When I photograph a wedding, I want to capture more than the pretty details.

I want the photographs to tell the whole story of the day.

The anticipation.

The ceremony.

The people who showed up to celebrate.

The quiet moments.

The laughter.

And especially the moments that make you stop and feel everything all over again.

For Mckenna and Ian, that meant making sure their photographs preserved the emotional moments of their ring ceremony and the role their kids played in the day.

Those are the photographs that will become even more meaningful as their family continues to grow together.

Your Jordan River Temple Wedding Photographer

A wedding can look a hundred different ways.

You might have a temple wedding followed by a traditional reception. You might have an intimate ring ceremony. You might include your children in your vows or create traditions that are completely your own.

There isn’t one right way to celebrate.

As a Jordan River Temple wedding photographer, I love documenting the moments that make your wedding day personal—especially the moments that reflect the people and relationships that matter most.

Mckenna and Ian’s wedding was beautiful, but the moments with their kids made it unforgettable.
