Some families become more than clients over the years. You get to watch their children grow, celebrate their milestones, and see their personalities change from one session to the next. The Wilde family is one of those families for me.
I’ve been photographing them since before sweet Stella was even part of their family, so getting to see her running around the Mendon Rolling Hills during this session was pretty special. Somehow, the little girl I remember is suddenly so big.
And honestly? The Wildes are just everything good.

Why I Love Being a Mendon Family Photographer
One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to photograph families again and again.
The Wilde family is a perfect example of why I love that.
When you’ve photographed a family for years, the session doesn’t feel like starting over. I already know their personalities, their relationships, and the little things that make them them. That familiarity allows everyone to relax and enjoy the session instead of spending the first half of it getting comfortable with the camera.
As a Mendon family photographer, those long-term relationships are some of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
The Magic of Watching Kids Grow
There’s something surreal about looking back at a family’s older galleries and realizing how much their children have changed.
I’ve photographed the Wildes since before Stella existed. Now she’s growing into her own little person, and I get to document another chapter of her childhood.
That’s one of the reasons I encourage families to make photography an ongoing tradition.
You don’t realize how quickly they’re changing while you’re living it.
Then you look back at a photograph from three years ago and suddenly everything has changed.

Why Mendon Rolling Hills Is Perfect for Family Photos
The Mendon Rolling Hills are one of my favorite places in Cache Valley for family photography.
The open hills, beautiful mountain views, and soft natural light create a timeless backdrop while giving families plenty of room to move and interact naturally.
I love locations like this because they don’t require families to stand still the entire time. We can walk, play, snuggle, laugh, and let the kids be themselves while I capture everything happening along the way.
The Kind of People You Remember
And then there are the things that have nothing to do with photography.
I absolutely love running into the Wildes “in the wild.” Every time I see them somewhere, they’re just as kind to me as they are during our sessions.
They’re the kind of people who make you feel noticed and cared about, and I have no doubt they’re that way with everyone they meet.
Getting to photograph families I genuinely admire makes this job even sweeter.
Family Photos Are About More Than One Session
The best family photography isn’t about getting one perfect gallery.
It’s about creating a visual history of your family.
It’s Stella growing from a baby into a little girl.
It’s the people your children become.
It’s the relationships that stay constant while everything else changes.
As a Mendon family photographer, I feel incredibly lucky when families trust me to document those changes year after year.
If you’re looking for a family photographer in Mendon, Logan, or throughout Cache Valley, I’d love to help you create photographs that tell your family’s story—not just today, but through all the seasons ahead.
