Some families truly weave themselves into your story as a photographer, and the Pehrson family is one of them. I’ve been photographing their crew since 2018, and every year feels like catching up with dear friends. Even though they don’t live in Cache Valley anymore, they always make it a priority to book family photos when they’re back in town. A Family That Grows With Me
The Pehrsons have trusted me with some of their biggest milestones. Last fall, I photographed one daughter’s senior session and another daughter’s wedding. This year, they’ve had so many big life changes: moving into their new empty-nester home, helping their oldest daughter settle into Arizona, and moving their son and daughter into college apartments in Utah.
In the middle of all that chaos, they still carved out time for family pictures. That kind of effort speaks volumes. These sessions aren’t just about the portraits—it’s about documenting the beautiful transitions of life. Honestly, I teared up behind the camera. Watching their kids grow so close in age reminded me of my own family, who are five years apart start to finish. Seeing them reach this stage felt like looking at my own future.

With a packed reunion and moving schedule, mornings worked best. So, we planned their session at the gorgeous Denzil Stewart Park in Logan. This park never disappoints—it’s beautiful year-round, and the light is magical any time of day. That morning, golden sunshine poured through the trees, giving us dreamy backdrops that made every image shine. It was the perfect setting to pause and capture their family at this stage of life.
