Box Elder Campground
Madi and Joe were both born and raised around Bear Lake. Bear Lake is my husband’s favorite place. He has tried to convince me more than once to build our new home by the lake. It is one of the most beautiful places in Utah. Clear, blue water. The best lake for boating! And so close to Beaver Mountain for an entire winter of skiing and snowmobiling.
Madi and Joe ALMOST had me convinced. They spent their summers on the lake. And their winters in the snowy mountains. Madi is an amazing snowboarder, and Joe skis. Since their jobs are INSANE all summer, they have most of the winter off to play in the snow. Their love story began when they both started fighting fires together for the National Forest Service.
Box Elder Campground in Mantua Utah
We met at Box Elder Campground in Mantua for their gorgeous bridal session. We prayed all day that the storm passing through would stop enough for their session, since she was getting her wisdom teeth out just a few days later. No one wants swollen cheeks in their wedding pictures. We were blessed with the most gorgeous blue skies, and dreamy clouds. It sprinkled during their first look, but it looked magical with the light coming through the clouds behind them.
The only mishap was the deer that destroyed his jeep on the way home from their bridals. But sounds like Madi is selling her wisdom teeth to pay for the damage. ;) (She was coming off the drugs when she came up with that idea but I think it’s the best I’ve heard.)
Joe and Madi are so in love. You can just feel it when you’re with them. He’s been the sweetest caretaker during her surgery.
