This session with the Martinez family felt like sunshine wrapped in warmth. I had photographed them the year before, so when Karina reached out to book again, it thrilled me! But she surprised me when she said they now had three kids instead of two. Talk about the sweetest surprise. This year’s family portraits in Davis County were full of love, laughter.
We wanted a location that felt like the perfect blend of summer and fall, and we found just that. The golden sun peeked through the trees and danced across the tall grass, giving us the most beautiful light. The kids were dressed in blues and browns that paired perfectly with the tans and greens of the landscape. It was the kind of session that gently whispers, “Goodbye summer, hello fall.”

The kids did such a great job—seriously, they earned their post-session Wendy’s dinner (their favorite place!) There were giggles, twirls, snuggles, and a few silly faces. I love when families can relax and be themselves because that’s when the best moments happen. The candid ones. The ones where you can feel the joy in the photo.
This session was a sweet reminder of why documenting these seasons of life is so important. Our families grow and change so fast—capturing them in real time helps us remember the little things: the way your toddler grins, how your baby’s curls bounce in the light, or how your oldest leans in for a hug without being asked.
