Morley Family – Lavender Field & Providence Hills Family Session

Morley Family Photos – A Mother’s Day Gift in the Lavender Fields

Some sessions feel extra meaningful, and this one definitely did. When the Morley family booked their Lavender Field Family Session Utah, it was more than just an excuse for updated portraits — it was a Mother’s Day and birthday gift from dad to mom. (Major bonus points, right?) The thoughtfulness behind it set the tone for a session filled with love, laughter, and some of the dreamiest backdrops Utah has to offer.

The original plan was to photograph the family in the beautiful Wellsville mountains. But when we arrived, we were greeted with strong winds that made it nearly impossible to shoot comfortably. Instead of forcing it, we decided to reschedule — and that turned out to be the best decision.

We ended up landing the very last available lavender field spot at The Lavender Apple in Millville. Rows of purple blooms created a soft, romantic backdrop that paired perfectly with the family’s natural connection. As if that weren’t enough, we finished the session in the glowing hills of Providence. The combination of lavender rows and golden hillside light gave us an incredible variety of timeless images.

Why a Lavender Field Family Session Utah Is So Magical

Lavender fields are truly one of the most enchanting photo locations. The soft tones add a romantic, timeless feel, while the open space gives kids plenty of room to run and play. It’s a perfect mix of beauty and ease, which is exactly what the Morleys needed. Their sweet baby stole the show — wide-eyed, expressive, and so unbelievably alert for her age. She made us laugh and melted hearts the entire time.

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about gorgeous light or stunning locations (though this one had both!). It’s about capturing a family’s story, their connections, and the love that shines through in every frame.

If you’ve been dreaming of family portraits that feel both unique and timeless, lavender season is the perfect time to make it happen. Spots go fast, but the images are worth every bit of planning.
