There is something so special about photographing a family with their very first baby. Everything is new. The excitement is still fresh, and I get to hear the whole story of how they got here while I photograph their brand-new little person.
This session at Blush Door Studio was exactly that.
The cutest baby boy joined me in the studio for his newborn photos, and I loved getting to spend time with his new parents. While I worked through the session, we talked about their pregnancy, their birth story, and all the little details that made bringing their first baby into the world so special.
Those conversations are one of my favorite parts of newborn photography.
Newborn Photos Are About More Than the Baby
Of course, I want all the sweet baby details.
The tiny fingers. The little toes. The sleepy faces. The stretches and scrunches that only last for a few weeks.
But newborn photos aren’t only about documenting what your baby looks like.

While I’m photographing your baby, I love hearing about your pregnancy and birth story. Every family arrives at this point differently, and I genuinely love learning how you got here.
You don’t have to spend your entire session focused on the camera.
You can talk to me. Tell me your birth story. Tell me what surprised you about becoming a parent. Tell me how you chose your baby’s name.
