Maternity Photos for a Family I’ve Watched Grow
I was so excited to photograph Miranda and her family for their maternity session in Ogden, Utah.
Miranda has been working with Kylee Ann Studios for a LONG time. Kylee photographed her starting with her engagement session, and now she is getting ready to welcome baby number four.
How cool is that?
Getting to see a family come back through the years and photograph all of the different seasons of their lives is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer. From engagements to growing families and now baby number four, Miranda’s photos tell such a fun story.
I felt especially honored to step in for Kylee this time and get to be part of that story.

Baby Number Four Is Already So Loved
Miranda and her family were incredibly kind, and it was so fun getting to spend the evening with them.
Her son kept us laughing throughout the entire session. He brought so much personality and energy to the photos, which is exactly what I love about photographing families.
And then we discovered something halfway through the session.
His shirt had a button that had been missed, which made his collar look completely crazy.
We had a good laugh about it, fixed his shirt, and went back through some of the photos to make sure we got everything we needed. I also had to do a little Photoshop magic on a few of the earlier images.
Honestly, these are the little things that happen during real family sessions.
You can plan the outfits, pick the perfect location, and have everything ready to go—and then a kid’s collar decides to do its own thing.
That’s okay.
Maternity Photos Don’t Have to Be Perfect
One of the reasons I love family maternity sessions is that they don’t have to feel overly polished or serious.
You’re documenting a real family in the middle of a really important transition.
There might be kids making everyone laugh. Someone might need an outfit adjustment. We might stop for a snack or fix a crooked collar. And there will probably be plenty of moments that aren’t perfectly posed.
Those moments are part of your story, too.
For Miranda, this session wasn’t just about taking beautiful maternity photos. It was another chapter in a relationship with KAS that has lasted from her engagement all the way through four babies.
That is such a cool thing to be trusted with.
