Today is the day Sister Brooklyn Kay Falter enters into the Provo MTC as a Sister Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Brooklyn has chosen to serve a mission for eighteen months and has been called to the Perth Australia LDS Mission. We’ve had many cousins serve missions for our church, but Brooklyn is the very first Falter called to serve. It’s a time of all sorts of overwhelming emotions – excitement, fear, anticipation, but most of all we are all so PROUD. It’s a big deal to leave your friends, family, school, technology and normal life for 18 months and dedicate your life to the Lord and Gospel. She is an amazing example to all of us. We love her and will miss her so much.
Brooklyn will be a full-time missionary for the Church. We will get to talk to her on the phone when she is leaving the US in the airport, on Mother’s day and Christmas. She will get to email us once a week and read letters throughout her entire mission. (If you want her address, let us know.) Since Brooklyn is the first missionary in our family, we’ve been asked many questions about what a mission is, who is called, how they are called and more. I found this awesome FAQ page on the LDS.org website (here) that answers all these questions.
Kylee started Kylee Ann Photography 9 years ago, and has since grown from a one woman amateur show to a full associate team. We shoot 50-75 weddings a year, and thrive on kindness and service. After a year of teaching Intro to Photography at the local technical college, she discovered that helping other entrepreneurs create thriving businesses is what fires her up! She hosts semi-annual Kylee Ann Sleepovers all over the US, speak at conferences and teach online courses about running a small business and marketing.
