I first met the Suchan Family when they moved into our neighborhood in Smithfield, Utah. She told me they had just moved from southeast Idaho, which is where I grew up! I love connecting with people who love the same places and people as I do. Megan is a great neighbor and friend. She just started an organizing business with another one of our neighbors! They are fabulous!!

When we were planning the Suchan Family photos in Cache Valley Utah, Megan told me about her vision of having the yellow rabbitbrush in her photos because yellow is her favorite color. I kept my eyes out for it throughout Logan Canyon. When I found it at Green Canyon, a popular photography location in Cache Valley, I was really excited because Green Canyon is a great photography location and it is close to our houses. I shot in an area at green canyon that I don’t typically take pictures at, and the change was so gorgeous! The light looked so pretty with the yellow rabbitbrush and the outfits Megan had put together. I was so happy we were able to bring their family picture vision to life!!

Their daughter Paige brought a hat to use as a prop for her session. We captured one of my favorite photos of her spinning in the pretty brush and light. The hat is so cute and complements cute Paige so nicely!

For fall family photos, we recommend adding layers and warmth to your outfits. This doesn’t have to be heavy winter coats or anything! It can simply be a half button up sweater with a short sleeve shirt under it or a cardigan. The families are much more comfortable and happy when they aren’t dealing with the elements of the weather. It is also visually interesting for the family photos to add layers and textures and extra little details!
