Photographing the Megan Daley family felt like a full-circle moment for me! Years ago, I used to babysit these kids when they were just little—and now here they are, grown up, getting their first full family photos taken since Kevin and Megan got married three years ago. Getting to see them all together again was such a joy.

We met up at a beautiful tree-lined location for these Preston, Idaho family photos, with the option to head down by the river. That soft, golden summer evening light hit just right and made everything look extra magical. The setting was peaceful and lush, and it gave us the perfect mix of green scenery and glowing sunset.

What stood out most to me during this session was how naturally everyone connected. There was a calm happiness in the air, and I could tell they were simply enjoying being together. The younger kids were playful, full of giggles and energy, and the older ones were sweet and patient. We captured a great mix of posed portraits and those candid, real-life moments—like little hand squeezes, laughing in between shots, and warm hugs.

As someone who’s known this family personally, it was especially meaningful to document their love and growth. These are the kinds of sessions that make me love what I do even more.
