There are some sessions where you feel like you’ve known a family forever, even though you’ve just met. That was exactly how I felt during the Cave family’s session at Rainbow Trailhead Gardens in Ogden. From the very beginning, we were laughing, joking, and talking like old friends, which made the entire evening feel relaxed and effortless.
This session was especially meaningful because it came through someone who means so much to me. Lori Lee—one of my favorite branding clients, an incredible realtor, and honestly a second mom to me—gifted this session to Abbey for her birthday. It was such a thoughtful gift, and I loved getting to spend the evening with their adorable little family.
As a Rainbow Gardens family photographer, I love when sessions feel less like work and more like spending time with genuinely wonderful people.

Why Rainbow Gardens Is One of My Favorite Family Photo Locations
Rainbow Trailhead Gardens has quickly become one of my favorite places to photograph families in Ogden.
While I’ve photographed here before, this session gave me the chance to explore the field side of the property for the first time, and I immediately fell in love with it. The tall grasses, open space, and soft evening light created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed family session while still showcasing the beautiful mountain scenery Northern Utah is known for.
One of my favorite parts of being a Rainbow Gardens family photographer is discovering new corners of locations I’ve visited before. Every family brings something different, and every session feels unique.
The Best Family Photos Happen Between the Poses
One thing I noticed almost immediately about the Cave family was how naturally affectionate they were with each other.
Their little boy had the happiest disposition and one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever photographed. He made my job incredibly easy. Between poses, his parents were constantly snuggling him, making him laugh, and simply enjoying being together.
Those unplanned moments ended up being some of my favorites.
While I always make sure we capture the classic “everyone looking at the camera” portraits, it’s the little interactions between family members that often become the most meaningful photographs.

A Session That Felt Like Friends Hanging Out
One of my biggest goals during every session is helping families forget there’s a camera nearby.
When everyone feels comfortable, personalities naturally shine through.
We spent the evening laughing, teasing each other, and enjoying the beautiful weather. Instead of worrying about perfect poses, this family simply enjoyed being together—and that’s exactly what made the gallery feel so genuine.
Creating Family Photos That Feel Like You
Every family has its own personality, and I never want your session to feel cookie-cutter.
Whether your kids are full of energy, extra cuddly, or somewhere in between, my goal is to document who your family really is during this season of life.
As a Rainbow Gardens family photographer, I love creating galleries that preserve those genuine connections while showcasing some of Northern Utah’s most beautiful locations.
If you’re looking for family photos in Ogden, I’d love to help create a session that’s relaxed, joyful, and full of authentic moments you’ll treasure for years to come.
