If you don’t already know this about me, now you do. I love my cousins. Growing up, we lived far away for most of my cousins. But every summer we got together with one family or another. Sometimes we would get together as an entire extended family. Those were some of my favorite memories of my childhood. Dozens of cousins running around and playing. We developed really close bonds and I’ve tried to all keep in touch as best as we can as we grow up.
It’s kind of hard because a lot of my cousins live in different parts of the country right now. Either going to school or working. But whenever we get together again, it’s amazing to see how we’ve all grown and catch up and laugh and to be family again.
My cousin Alyssa is so beautiful. Over the last couple years she’s become a wife and a mom, and I love to see her family grow, as my family grows. These were the Self’s first ever family pictures. I love their big, bright, beautiful smiles. The poppies were luckily in bloom, so we had the perfect colorful backdrop to work with.
The Big Move
The Self family is moving from Wisconson to California. They stopped in Utah on their way, for family pictures, and I am so glad. There’s a few really exciting things about their move… First, that I’ve decided I’m going to visit them regularly in California because… well, Cali beaches are my happy place. Cant wait to go to Disneyland all the time now. ;) Second, that they’re making big moves forward.
My cousin’s husband just graduated med school and is officially a DOCTOR! I’ve never been to medical school, but I imagine that the pressure and stress of it can be hard on young families. I am so proud of both of them for all of their adventures and growth and patience. I wish them all the best in California and beyond.
