What to Expect at an Extended Family Session

The day after Thanksgiving I got to take pictures in beautiful Logan canyon of the coolest Foulger/Mobley family! Janae had the perfect shot list of all of the groupings she wanted which was super great so we didn’t forget anything. They all looked amazing! Can we even handle these fall outfits?! It was seriously too much fun and we were joking and laughing the whole time. They hadn’t had a professional family picture for 6 years! I sent the pictures off to the editor right after the shoot and had the full gallery delivered to the family 10 hours later! I love a quick turn around time!

We love big families and it is no problem for us to photograph big groups! The Foulger/Mobley family had a unique situation with their family dynamics as they are blended of 2 different families! We love that. Janae brought the perfect shot list so we didn’t forget any of the grouping they want.

Generally, We start with the big group photo in a couple different poses while all children are still managing well. From there, we group down into the smaller groups. This includes all of the people minus the parents, just the original siblings, just the grandkids, just the grandkids with grandparents and the girl groupings and boy groupings.

From there, we get a photo of each individual family, each couple and any individual photos we need!

We move fairly quickly if there are a lot of groupings to work through. We use one location but several different backgrounds at that location. There is usually some time for fun pictures at the end! It is so fun to capture everyone’s personalities and photograph adult siblings together being crazy and silly.

At Kylee Ann photography we have so many systems that make for an incredible turn around time! When I am asked when the photos will be delivered, I say anywhere from 48 hours to a week depending on the work load, but it is not a surprise at all when we can deliver sooner! It’s truly incredible and the teamwork at Kylee Ann Studios is extraordinary. I love all of the women I work with and how hard they work to serve every client the very very best.
