Wyoming Romance

This was my first experience as a Wyoming wedding photographer! Kayden and Jaycee met through mutual friends in college. Their first date was on Kayden’s family ranch getting to go on a horse back ride. They fell more and more in love over the last year. He proposed to her a few months ago when they were out looking for deer. She turned around and found her boyfriend turned fiancé on his knee with the prettiest ring and sincerest promise. She was so excited to say yes.

Family Ranch

They have completely joined their lives together and their love for their home state of WY is a big foundation of their relationship. I was so happy to travel to WY for the wedding! It was perfect for their story to be married on Jaycee’s family’s ranch with an amazing view from the ceremony. It was a little smokey that day, but luckily it kept the heat away. I’m pretty sure the entire town showed up to celebrate them. Her grandma and grandpa’s yard was more than suitable for yard games for the kids and lots of room for long tables for the guests.

The Ceremony

Their families are both so important to them and it was all focused around family. The couple asked Kayden’s dad to officiate their wedding vows. There wasn’t a dry eye in the audience when he expressed his love for the couple, gave them words of advice and invited them to share their first kiss. The atmosphere was so special and calm as they came down the isle together as husband and wife. I love when couples include who are important to them in the details of the day. Their wedding party was also full of important people. Jaycee invited her friends from college, her two sisters and her cousin to be in there wedding party. These girls were as kind as they were beautiful. Not only have these girls been here their for Jaycee in the past, but they were there to help Jaycee  zip up her dress, just moments before she walked down the isle to Kayden.

This wedding was one of the most on-time and peaceful weddings I’ve been apart of. It mirrored exactly the planning and relaxed personalities of the couple. I was swooning over Jaycee’s bead encrusted bodice and full tulle skirt all day long. Kayden was so sweet and kind with her and Jaycee was radiant that whole day. He wore his cowboy boots and hat, purchased especially for the wedding day. Photos like these on a ranch in the WY hills are what photographer’s dreams are made of. I think I could love being a Wyoming wedding photographer.

They rounded out the day with traditions on her grandparents lawn, cake cutting in front of family and friends and the guests enjoyed yummy tacos and drinks in the setting sun. Congrats to these two! I’m so excited to see the amazing things that come to them in their life!
