A Wild and Wonderful Mini Session With This Box Elder County Family Photographer

Some families just feel like home, and Melissa and Dru are absolutely that for me. I’ve been photographing them since their engagement days, long before diaper bags and snack bribes were part of the picture. Now they’re wrangling three little ones with heart, humor, and so much love. Their mini session at Box Elder Campground was pure, joyful chaos—the kind that every Box Elder County Family Photographer secretly loves because it shows real family life in the sweetest way.

From the moment we started, the energy never stopped. Toddlers zigzagged across the campground. Snacks came out within seconds. Silly faces kept everyone laughing. Instead of fighting the chaos, Melissa and Dru leaned in. They laughed through it. They embraced their kids exactly as they are right now—wiggly, expressive, and full of personality.

The best part? That one hilarious photo where both parents are trying to wrangle all three kids at once. Zero chill. Maximum determination. Pure real life. And of course, Melissa posted that one first. It captured their season perfectly.

Their session reminded me why I adore documenting families I’ve known for years. Watching couples grow into parents and then watching those parents grow with their kids is one of the best parts of this job. Every session becomes another chapter in their story. This one felt especially honest and beautiful.

Why a Box Elder County Family Photographer Loves the Wild Sessions

Perfect photos are great, but real photos? Those are gold. The messy moments, the quick hugs, the runaway toddlers, the belly laughs—those are the images families cherish most. As a family photographer in Box Elder County, I treasure sessions like this because they hold so much truth. Real life never looks stiff or perfectly posed. It looks loud, funny, loving, and incredibly tender behind the chaos.

We still grabbed the classic portraits, of course. Those soft smiles and sweet group shots matter. But the in-between photos captured the heart of this family even more. Their connection showed up in every frame, even in the chaos.

If you’ve been putting off family photos because you’re worried your kids won’t sit still, take this as your sign. Your session doesn’t need to be calm to be meaningful. I’ll guide you through it, help everyone feel comfortable, and capture the magic that naturally unfolds.
