When I got to Providence Utah for Extended Family Pictures, I automatically started counting in my head all the reasons this session was so great. Let’s talk about it.
1. The more the merrier.
Some of you might remember this sweet family from a few months ago. We did some family pictures in Wellsville just before baby came. I love taking pictures of my neighbor and good friend Brikelle. It’s always a lot of fun. And this time she brought her whole family – and so the fun tripled by extension (pun intended).
2. Cousins make things fun.
Cousins are different from siblings. They’re always excited to see each other, and usually are less likely to hit and tease each other. If there are sibling rivalries, cousins are a great distraction and can bring humor and energy into every session. We love cousins.
3. Having their brothers & sisters around make parents less crazy
I will be the first to admit, I sometimes get a little bit crazy when trying to wrangle my kids during family pictures. When you’re surrounded by someone else’s kids – like your nieces and nephews – it just doesn’t seem like as big of a deal, and the vibes become way less intense. Plus you get a lot of help from your siblings if things go south.
Another huge plus is that if when the men are acting like men (as they always do during family pictures), the women have their sisters to grumble to and you can just all laugh it off together. The boys will have their bro’s to keep them company and won’t feel so overwhelmed. It’s a win-win-win!
4. Gifts for the year.
Grandma’s are the easiest people to give gifts to. All they way is current pictures of their grandkids. Printed, framed, custom printed on an item — you can’t go wrong with grandkid pictures. One session can provide a whole years worth of gift opportunities to family members, and especially grandparents.
5. Natural & Full
Extended family pictures are almost always done outside. Because the backdrops are much much bigger. This always gives extended family pictures such a natural and full look. This year, the lilacs were in bloom to give the prettiest backdrop to these Providence Utah Extended Family Pictures. Spring is so bright and the light is so warm.
