Cactus and Tropicals Engagements
Wyatt and Macey have the sweetest story! They are just meant to be! I asked them a few questions and Macey sent back the sweetest responses so I just have to share what she told me!
“Wyatt & I met on the mission. BEST PLACE TO MEET EVER. I wouldn’t have it any other way. We served in Louisiana. He was my zone leader when I was a new missionary. I didn’t really get along him at first.. but he is the kindest human being, and I just couldn’t help being his friend. We served together for 12 weeks and became best friends.
Pretty soon we were both transferred to opposite ends of the mission. Coincidence? Nope. God had our back hahaha. Wyatt went home just a few weeks later. Just before he went home, my mission president had the impression to ask me if there was anyone from the mission I would consider a future with.
After lots of hesitation, I finally admitted (to myself and him lol) that I could picture a future with Elder Berndt. He encouraged me to write him and let him know once he was heading home. Meanwhile, Elder Berndt had had a VERY similar conversation with President, who gave him the same advice. Wyatt got home and started writing me. His entire family flew up for my homecoming right after I got home. 2 weeks after I got home we started dating and I immediately knew I was going to marry him. LITERALLY DREAMS COMING TRUE.”

“Our first time spending non-missionary time together was in Washington when his family flew up for my homecoming. We spent the day meeting his family that lives in Washington and then went up to Seattle on the ferry. That night I took him to my favorite spot in my hometown and he kissed me in the freezing cold. (and he’s a Vegas boy… so that was a big deal.. haha!)
Our first official date was the next week when we roadtripped to UT together. We are both dinosaur nerds, so we went to the Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi. It’s our favorite date spot now- we go at least once a month. We’re regulars.. haha!”
Provo City Center Temple Proposal
“My favorite temple is the Provo City Center Temple. I went for the first time the morning I entered the MTC. I remember being in AWE of how beautiful it was, and feeling an instant connection to that temple. On our first road trip to UT, we had been driving for nearly 8 hours when we drove past the Provo City Center Temple. Even though we were both looking terrible, Wyatt pulled over so we could take a break and get a picture in front of the temple.
When I moved to Provo for school, I started going to the Provo City Center Temple every week. It’s been a plan to get sealed there (: So… one afternoon before I had to take a midterm, Wyatt took me there to enjoy the sunshine and relax. Except.. when we got there, one of my mission best friends was there holding a camera. About 5 minutes later Wyatt asked me if I liked this temple and wanted to get married there. I kind of laughed it off saying “well.. yeah that’s the plan silly.” He responded by saying “no.. Mace, will you marry me here?” He then got down on one knee and… long story short I’m still trying to remember how to breathe. LOL.”
Salt Lake Greenhouse Engagements
It was so fun to finally get to hang out with these two! I loved that they chose Cactus and Tropicals for their engagements! I love this shop because they have beautiful florals year round and the lighting is stunning! These two are so fun together! They are so giggly together, and basically almost finish each other’s sentences. They just fit so well together. Wyatt nurtures and loves her while Macey just adores Wyatt. I love seeing them tease each other and they always have fun when they are together. They really have such a sweet spirit about them and I can’t wait for you to see their adorable engagement photos! Enjoy!
