This Newport Beach Temple Wedding was absolutely incredible. The day started at the temple which happens to be PINK. I had no idea such a thing even existed or it would have been on my bucket list 5 years ago. Not only is it my favorite color (soft pink), but the grounds are covered in lush green trees and grass. Palm trees around every corner. The weather was cloudy with a chance of rain, but 60+ degrees warmer than Utah. Laurel’s eight bridesmaids were wearing gorgeous, modest and classy green dresses. Randy’s groomsmen and brothers were sporting floral skinny ties from Dazi. The best part of the day was how happy Randy and Laurel were. They exited the temple hand in hand with the BIGGEST smiles on their faces. They hugged, kissed, laughed and smiled all day long.
After we finished family pictures at the temple, we headed to the reception center to start celebrating their big day. The reception was held at Newland Bard in Huntington Beach. A perfect place for family and friends to hug, mingle, eat and dance. In and Out catered their reception with a complete staff in a semi food truck. One of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Watching Laurel and Randy eat their burgers in full wedding attire was amazing. My favorite part of the reception was that it was a labor of love. Laurel’s sisters and mother care SO much about her. It is obvious in everything that they do. Laurel’s sister (Brooke) was the wedding florist. The bouquets and table florals were incredible. Every last detail. Together Laurel’s sisters (Alyssa and Heather) made the cake. It was absolutely perfect…especially the taste. Mmmm. Laurel’s cousin (Lindsay Lee) did Laurel’s hair and make up. And of course Loralee (Mom) did all the planning and communicating to make it all happen. There were so many amazing women working together to make a magical night for Randy and Laurel!
The night went perfect despite a few rain showers here and there. The catering from In and Out was a huge hit. But the highlight of everyone’s night was definitely the dancing. These California people know how to dance. It was AMAZING to watch, especially the bride and groom. As a California Wedding Photographer twice this year, I learned a few things. The weather in California is amazing!!! December 29th is supposed to be cold and miserable. Not in California! Also, every single place in California is beautiful. Especially the temples and temple grounds. California Temples are my favorite! And they all drive really great cars. Which is awesome because you need a great car to navigate through the crazy traffic and streets that turn into highways with little notice.
