Last Tuesday night, I was chatting with a few local photographers. They wanted to shoot, but didn’t have anyone or anywhere to shoot. I offered to model if I could come in sweats, no make up and a ponytail. They planned this awesome shoot in the diaper aisle of Walmart (fitting right?). Unfortunately that plan didn’t work out because light stands, cameras and trench coats in Walmart most likely lead to arrest, so we kept looking.
Cortney just barely graduated from a high school in Idaho and came up to Logan, Utah to attend USU. She had just recently bought her camera from Best Buy, where Mike told her about our group and suggested she joined. She created a Facebook just to join the group. Lucky for us because she popped on and volunteered to model.
Tonio and I showed up at the same time right as the sunset began. Mike drug us up to the top of the highest hill (very steep) to catch the sunset then had to leave. Thankfully, he left us his flash and triggers since I forgot mine at home. It was a great idea until it was pitch black, flashes were dead, I was in sandals and we had all our equipment in hand. Rodney ended up sliding down on his behind. It was a hilarious night and we captured the beauty of Cortney and the sunset so perfectly.
This shot below was taken before Tonio figured out my trigger. We were trying to use Canon triggers with Nikon equipment and it would only work in one specific spot.
