Custom Back-to-School Product Photography | Bead Up’s Colorful Products Made for Kids

Some commercial products are beautiful because of their design. Others are beautiful because of what they represent.

The Bead Up collection I photographed at Blush Door Studio was both.

As a custom product photographer for kids brands, I loved getting to photograph products designed to make everyday childhood moments a little more fun and meaningful. Bead Up is launching a collection of personalized back-to-school products for school-aged kids, and every piece felt like a little work of art.

From colorful wood signs to personalized keychains, affirmation mirrors, magnets, and reward charts, these products were designed with kids’ personalities in mind.

Lifestyle Product Photography That Shows Personality

One of my favorite things about photographing children’s products is getting to capture the details that make each piece special.

Bead Up’s products were full of bright colors, beautiful wood, and playful details. Spaceships, butterflies, flowers, fun fonts, and colorful designs gave each product its own personality.

That’s exactly what I want commercial photography to communicate.

A customer shouldn’t just see a product. They should be able to picture their child using it.

The backpack keychains were a perfect example. With different colors and fonts, each child can choose something that feels like them. They’re functional, but they’re also a fun way for kids to show off their individual personalities.

The Product That Made Me Tear Up

My favorite products from this shoot were the affirmation mirrors.

The borders are covered with positive affirmations, and the bottom of each mirror says, “I am ___.”

As I photographed them, I couldn’t stop thinking about the kids who will stand in front of these mirrors every morning before school, reading those affirmations out loud and then seeing themselves reflected back.

That’s the kind of product story I love being able to capture through photography.

The product itself is beautiful, but the why behind it is what makes the images meaningful.

Creating a Complete Product Photography Library

Because Bead Up is launching several products at once, the goal wasn’t simply to photograph individual items. We needed a collection of images that could work across the brand’s website, product listings, social media, and marketing.

That meant creating variety while keeping the photography cohesive.

Back-to-school boards.

Reward charts.

Schoolwork magnets.

Affirmation mirrors.

Personalized keychains.

Each product needed to be photographed clearly while still feeling like part of the same brand.

Commercial Photography for Brands That Have a Story to Tell

The best product photography doesn’t just show customers what something looks like. It helps them understand why they want it.

That’s especially important for children’s brands, where parents are often buying products because of how those products will make their child’s experience better.

As a commercial photographer at Blush Door Studio in Providence, Utah, I love helping brands bring those stories to life through colorful, intentional imagery.

If you’re launching a children’s product, personalized collection, or back-to-school line and need photography that showcases both the product and the personality behind it, I’d love to help.
