Some couples want a traditional engagement session. Others want their photos to feel completely, unmistakably like them.
Elisabeth and Nate fell into the second category, and I loved it.
They actually eloped in the mountains earlier that day, making their session at Maple Grove Hot Springs part of an entire day centered around their marriage and their relationship. Elisabeth came with fun ideas for poses and locations she wanted to incorporate, which gave us the chance to create photographs that felt personal rather than following a standard list of poses.

While I’m always happy to guide couples through poses and give direction throughout a session, I don’t believe every couple needs to look the same in their photographs.
If you have a pose you’ve saved, a location you’ve always loved, or an idea that feels uniquely yours, bring it with you.
Those personal ideas often turn into the photographs you’ll love most.
