How to Plan Family Picture Outfits with the Rawlings family. This gorgeous field is pretty all year round, but especially in late summer when it turns golden. This cute family flies in from Texas to visit family every summer. While they are here, we schedule family pictures. We have hit so many gorgeous spots in the last few years of taking their gorgeous family pictures.
This mountainy spot in Providence is one of my all time favorites. I love open fields, hills, mountains, tall golden grass. The Rawlings family always has the BEST outfits, and the best color schemes. A good way to do what they do:
1. Start with neutrals
Neutrals are easy. A long white or cream dress for mom, and a few neutral colored shirts for the kids. You can find these on Amazon, Old Navy, Roolee or even Walmart. Pretty neutrals are everywhere! We have a list on Amazon with some favorites.
2. Add in a pattern or two
Patterns are so fun. It adds texture and interest to your photos. Just like the Rawlings below, plaid and floral are GREAT patterns to work with.
3. Add a solid pop of color to finish it off
Pull from one of the patterns. Something light or pastel works best. Colors that are too bright or fluorescent are very distracting and don’t photograph well. My favorite pops of color are blue (all shades), pinks or rusts.
