All of the little details. A first family picture.  Capturing the relationship between baby and parents.  Watching parents gush about how perfect their little one is.  All things I adore about a newborn photo session.

This entire newborn photo session I was taken back through memory lane.  Back to 15 years ago when I had my very first baby boy.  I don’t know what it was about this sweet baby boy, but he reminded me so much of my first born.

I was reminded of all of the incredible moments, and the hard ones.  Of the times when I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and the times when I started feeling confident in myself and my abilities.

But most of all, I thought about how amazing life is.  How we can grow these tiny humans and they come with their own personalities right from the start.  At first we have to do everything for them.  Then, little by little, they start to do things for themselves.  It starts small with them rolling over, then walking, climbing, and eating on their own.  Before you know it they are Sophomores in high school like my big boy.  I am constantly in awe of him and the person he is becoming.  He doesn’t need me as much anymore, but I still need him.

This little one was SUCH a calm baby.  He slept through almost his entire session and was just happy to be snuggled up in his parents’ arms.  They all had a calm presence and it was contagious.  You can just feel the love they have for each other and for their baby.  The neutral color palette they chose to wear helps the eye focus on them and all of the things they will want to remember about this time in their lives.
