Personalized Engagement Pictures
Engagement Pictures are how you document this special time in your life. The butterflies, wedding planning, those soft giggles as you call one another fiancé for the first time; we want to capture the entire feeling of those moments in this one photography session. So when you look back at these pictures, you smile every time. You remember what it was like. And those feelings all come rushing back. Whoa.. that is a lot to try to recreate in one photography session! Which is why we shouldn’t recreate. I want to take you back to those special places that have meaning to you. I want to photograph you doing what you love. These pictures, need to be who YOU are. They need to be personal engagement pictures.
Location, Location, LOCATION!
Alright, it is time for a quick brainstorming session! We need to decide on a location to shoot your engagement photos. Give me some great lighting, and we can make anywhere be perfect. If a certain location doesn’t instantly pop into your mind, go through these 5 questions:
- Where did you first meet?
- Where was your first kiss?
- In what spot did you both first say “I love you” ❤️
- Did you have any favorite first dates? Where did they take place?
- Do you have a special hangout spot you both love to go?
And here are some of my favorite examples from some other Kylee Ann bride’s engagements! Amber and Darrick’s were taken at the park where they shared their first kiss. Hayley and John’s proposal was captured in Tony’s Grove in Hayley’s favorite spot, so of course we had to go back and do their engagements in this meaningful spot too! And Adrienne and David’s session was done where they had their 4th date (right before they became Official!) When engagements are photographed in a spot that holds personal meaning for the couple… it goes from two people standing in a pretty place to moments captured that are telling a love story.
Activity:
After location, the next best way to personalize your engagement session is by doing an activity. What do YOU, as a couple, like to do together? Fishing, canoeing, camping, cooking, dancing, mountain biking, horse back riding, boating… do NOT shy away from those “crazy” ideas! We can recreate a fun first date of ice skating or photograph your Sunday picnic that you two have together every week. Adding this level of activity will show not only give your Facebook friends a little more insight to you as a couple, but when you look back on these photos 60 years from now you won’t be able to help smiling as you remember the memories.
Some of Kayla and Josh’s engagements were taken while bike riding in the canyon. They love biking and being together so much that they even have a two seater! And this other example is actually not engagements, but of the Nukaya Family! During their at home session we did some fun cooking styles pics. If you and your fiancé love to cook together, a kitchen engagement shoot is on my bucket list!
