Five Beauty Tips for Newbies from a Newb

I’ve been in the beauty world for a few months now, and have picked up some life hacks that I must share. I am such a newb when it comes to make up and beauty, but every tidbit of information I get, I am passing along to help the fellow newbies.

Five Beauty Tips for Newbies from a Newb

1. Use Tinkle for Eyebrow Grooming

Say goodbye to sticky wax, ridiculously painful threading or untamed eyebrows. Tinkle is a tiny little face razor that grooms your eyebrows in seconds…in the least painful way possible. I keep one in my car, one in my make up bag and one in my bathroom. My eyebrows are on fleek! (Is that word still being used?) You can also use it to get the peach fuzz on the rest of your face or that upper brow. I use cream foundation now so a hairless face is essential for smooth application. I love my Tinkle.

P.S. It’s less than $5 for a pack of 6

2. Find Eye Lash Serum that’s Half the Price & Just as Effective

My friend Jayci Jean started a beauty blog, and shared how to get lashes like her. (Her lashes are insanely amazing, and real.) I have looked into eye lash serums but they are sooo much money. And will they really work?? She posted a link to her favorite lash serum. It’s local (Salt Lake, woot), affordable and will last me three months. I bought it and started it right away!! Lash Babe for babe lashes ;)

3. Moisturize Daily

I’m pretty sure I learned this principle in kindergarten but it was one of those things I never really did. It was just another step to add to the self care routine when I was tired and just want to go to bed. When I moved to Utah, I got really bad skin. Adult acne. Dry face. Break outs all the time. Then I got pregnant…three times. It got worse, and I looked like a pre-teen. I started moisturizing daily…and waaaalaaa, it’s all healed. I haven’t had a real break out since I started Maskcara in July and I attribute it all to MILK.

MILK INGREDIENTS: A CRAZY GOOD BLEND OF EMOLLIENTS AND MOISTURIZERS, MILK CONTAINS 16% NATURAL MILK COMPONENTS, AND MOISTURIZES THE DRIEST OF SKINS, LEAVING EVEN SENSITIVE SKIN WITH A YOUTHFUL GLOW. IT IS ALSO ENRICHED WITH NATURAL HONEY, JOJOBA OIL, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL AND VITAMINS A AND E. THIS CREAM HELPS DIMINISH THE APPEARANCE OF FINE LINES WHILE EXFOLIATING AND NOURISHING YOUR SKIN. YOU’LL LOVE HOW QUICKLY IT SINKS IN LEAVING YOUR SKIN FEELING SOFT AND FRESH RATHER THAN HEAVY AND OILY! 1.7oz

4. Exfoliate multiple times a week

Up until I started Maskcara, I’m not sure if I ever truly exfoliated. Eek, is that gross? I’m not sure I should admit that publicly. Exfoliation is the key to healthy skin, smooth make up application and a soft, beautiful face. I’ve been using Cure – a water based exfoliator gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. There’s no artificial coloring, fragrance, or preservatives.

5. Use the Best Lashes & Glue

I’ve gone through my fair share of terrible fake eyelash purchases. My professional make up artist friends saved me from making that mistake again. My favorite fake eyelashes are the Christina Demi Wispies. I re-use them again and again so this six pack has actually lasted me years. The best glue is Duo Strip EyeLash Adhesive for DARK tone. Put it on the falsies but don’t put it on your eye lashes until it’s tacky. If you put it on wet, you’ll make a huge mess…or so I’ve been told ;) ;)
