I’m proud to be an American. I love celebrating our independence every year and being reminded of all those of sacrifice their time, skills and sometimes lives to protect our country. This year is extra special to me because one of my best friends is now a military wife and spent her first fourth of July without her sweetheart. Watching her experiences as her husband is training in the Air Force, I am reminded of the sacrifices not only the soldiers make, but their families that are left behind. When I was young, I watched a family lose their soldier and that also is a constant reminder to me. Thank you men and women fighting for our country and thank you military families.
We spent the 3rd of July watching the fireworks from behind Lee’s with some of our best friends and their families. Brody made it almost all the way through the night and was loving all the colors everywhere.
On the fourth of July, we headed up to Grace Idaho for a big family celebration. Luke and I went on a mini four-wheelin’ date down the dirt road and up another. Then, Brody and I trotted around on a horse for a little while. We played some backyard volleyball with cousins, aunts and uncles and had a huge water fight. They called it redneck AC. It was fun and relaxing spending the day in the country with family.
My cousins became my light painting guinea pigs. We had some successes, but mostly fails. Then, we watched a mini firework show in the front yard. Grace Idaho Photographer
